Scott Bodnar, Vice President: ACTIVE Life Labs
Scott leads the development of the innovative systems, programs and events that support the ACTIVE Life Movement. He is passionate about and well-versed in finding creative, meaningful and, most importantly, effective ways of engaging, empowering and enlisting people and places in the ACTIVE Life Movement. Scott is driven by the belief that each and every decision we make provides us with an opportunity to change the lives of our families, friends, communities and ourselves for the better and is committed to helping people take advantage of these opportunities. Kate Bouwkamp, Manager: ACTIVE Life Labs
Kate works in the ACTIVE Life Labs on the development of the innovative systems and programs that support the ACTIVE Life Movement. Kate earned her BA in Psychology with a Minor in Public Health from the University of Maryland and is currently completing her Masters in Public Health, with a focus on Health Promotions, from San Diego State University. She competed in sports from the age of 5 until she graduated from high school. Today, through running, yoga, and triathlons, she's made being active a priority in her life. Joseph Dean, Director: Afterschool Programs
Joseph oversees the day to day operations of ALM’s afterschool programs. Being ACTIVE is a way of life for Joseph who also coaches, and officiates basketball here in the Austin community. After serving 8 years with the U.S Army, Joseph was hired by the Austin Independent School District, where he worked for 8 years as an afterschool specialist. Joseph@activelifemovement.org

Liz Guernsey, MSW, Director: Community Challenge
Through the Community Challenge, Liz brings a variety of individuals and organizations together to empower them to become passionate advocates for health and leaders in their community. She draws from her deep experience in community planning, collaboration and program evaluation in her management of the Challenge. Liz received her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Business from Texas A & M University and her Master’s of Science in Social Work Administration and Planning from the University of Texas at Austin. She is ecstatic to be working for the ACTIVE Life Movement as an integral part of an idea that is not only grand, but also achievable. Liz@activelifemovement.org

Baker Harrell, Founder & CEO
Baker serves as Chief ACTIVEist for the ACTIVE Life Movement. He is responsible for guiding the vision and mission of the organization and considers himself very fortunate to work with and learn from such an incredible group of people each day. Baker received a B.A. in Comparative Religious Studies, a M.Ed. in Health Education, with a specialization in children’s health and childhood obesity and is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Texas at Austin, where he is specializing in the intersection of new media, lifestyle marketing and health promotion. Baker founded the ACTIVE Life Movement based on his belief in the transformative power of a life lived fully and in people’s capacity for pro-social change. Baker@activelifemovement.org

Abi Justice, Financial Manger
Abi manages financial reporting and bookkeeping for ACTIVE Life Movement. In addition, she has operated her own photography business since 2004. She received her BA in photography from St. Edward's University, and is currently pursuing her Masters in accounting. A native Austinite, Abi is dedicated to supporting local businesses, local farmers and protecting the unique natural resources she enjoys every day in her hometown. Her commitment to staying ACTIVE includes daily hikes and organic, vegetarian cuisine. Abi@activelifemovement.org

David Justice, Director of Finance
David acts as senior advisor to the ACTIVE Life Movement’s accounting department. Drawing on over 30 years of experience in public, non-profit and private accounting, David has long-supported the not-for-profit community in Austin. David enjoys being ACTIVE every day as he shares in the joy of raising his granddaughter, Adalai.

Rhonda M. Lane, Vice President: ACTIVE Life Government Projects
Rhonda is responsible for the overall management of all government projects for the ACTIVE Life Movement. She has 23 years of government experience working at the Texas Department of Agriculture, Texas Health and Human Services Commission, and the Department of State Health Services. She is passionate about being part of a movement which is dedicated to improving the health and well being of others. Rhonda has received her B.S. from Cameron University in Oklahoma and her M.S. in Nutrition from Texas Woman’s University. She is a Board Certified Nutrition Specialist from the American College of Nutrition and has been active in the area of adult and child nutrition for over 23 years. Rhonda@activelifemovement.org

Keith Allen Peters, Creative Coordinator
Keith serves as the coordinator for the ACTIVE Life Movement's creative Department. His BFA in communication design from Texas State University has taught him how to effectively comunicate to an audience using visual devices. Keith, an avid rock climber and wakeboarder, is passionate about living an active lifestyle and hopes to inspire others to do the same. Allen@activelifemovement.org

Becca Ramati, Chief Development Officer
Becca is responsible for all fundraising and business development activities for the ACTIVE Life Movement. She brings over ten years of experience working in the development field for national non-profits. Becca has a B.A. degree from the University of Oregon. Pat Sutton, Director: School and Community Outreach
Pat manages the ACTIVE Life Movement’s efforts to engage, empower and enlist individuals, schools and community organizations. Utilizing techniques, knowledge, and relationships garnered from her 29 years teaching Physical Education in public schools, Pat has played a key role in developing and promoting the organization’s efforts since its earliest days (back in 2004). Pat earned her Bachelor of Arts in Teaching from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX. She is passionate about connecting people and places with the ACTIVE Life Movement so that they can better embrace and celebrate ACTIVE lifestyles and inspire others to do so as well. Socorro “Coco” Valdez, Manager: Team ACTIVE Life & Events
Socorro is head cheerleader for the ACTIVE Life Movement’s online and offline community, Team ACTIVE Life. She also oversees the production of ALM’s local and regional events. Socorro earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a focus on Health Promotion and Fitness from the University of Texas at Austin. John Waterman, Coordinator: Marketing and Communications
John manages the day-to-day implementation of the ACTIVE Life Movement’s communication strategies and assets. He also serves as an ALM afterschool program instructor. His life experiences, as well as previous jobs and internships, have taught him the importance of open and effective communication and the value of sustaining mutually beneficial relationships. John earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and a Bachelor of Science in Radio, Television, and Film from the University of Texas at Austin. His passion for the ACTIVE Life Movement is inspired by his brother, Teddy Waterman and his cousin Teddy Eastburn, who both passed away in 2007. John@activelifemovement.org
